Scopas Tang has two pencil eraser sized black dots on it.
The Tang seems to be doing well, but I am not sure what is going on and should I be worried. I do have a new hammer coral in the tank also. Could a coral sting a Tang and cause marks like that. It looks like a bruise type of mark.
I tested my water and I only found one number that I though cold be suspect. The ph was 7.7 and could this cause problems in my fish? I am using Reef Fusion 2 part solution right now, what is the best way to adjust my ph. dhk was 10 and ca was 480. should I add an extra dose of just the alkaline portion of the two part solution? THANKS.

a pic. would help.
corals do leave sting marks but never seen them leave that big of marks. for pH. try running the airline part of your skimmer out a window. the more O2 will help alot. thats what I do but also try to put a carbon filter on the end of the airline to keep junk from out side out

Could be, tangs are a bit demanding on water quality IMO. Just make sure to do two things:
1. Double check your readings with another test kit (most LFS can test for you). The last thing you want to do is try to boost your pH when it could already be at an acceptable level (goes for every water parameter). 2. Make changes slowly. Making rapid changes to water parameters can often be worse than sub-par conditions in the first place. Good luck with your tang, keep it fed with tons of nori and it'll be fine.
