long tentacle anemone and clownfish

is it safe to add an lta and 2 clownfish at once to a 75 gal tank with a yellow tang and 2 starfish

But, shouldn't be an issues, assuming that you have the proper sandbed depth, lights and parameters for an M. doreensis.

Though, if your hobby experience of "2 weeks" is correct, I would not be adding an LTA, let alone any hosting anemone to your tank just yet.

Give us more information about your tank so we'll get a better idea how to answer. What's your water parameters, lighting, how long has tank been set up, etc...? If this is the tank in your profile that's been set up for 2 wks, it's nowhere near being ready for an anemone or ANY livestock yet.

LTAs have a tendency to find their way into powerheads and power filter intakes.
These should either be removed or covered with foam or a nylon bag to keep the anemone from being sucked into them.

I'll second the need for more info, but i have an LTA and 2 true perculas hosting in it and it's fine. I did the clowns and then the nem about a month later. It took about a week to get them to host in it.

The tentacles on the LTA grow long, very long. Some of them on mine are 6-8 inches long. The nem has gotten 10" in diameter too. Basically the center 3rd of my 90 gallon tank is unusable for corals... I'd recomend going BTA, carpet, or any other type of nem.

"Carpets" will get bigger then any LTA, and I more difficult to keep -- IMO poor choices for a first anemone.

+1 on the Deep sand bed, mine moved around for about 2 days before it burried itself to the bottom of my tank, about 4" of sand. Now it looks like it is thriving. Still my clowns could care less about it though. The corner of the tank serves them better refuge.

But my tank sure is awsome looking. Current Tank Info: 300G DD reef tank, 100g sump 40g breeder set up as a refugium, C-skim skimmer, , 2 165w LED and t5 setup, BRS reactor for carbon and GFO. Fish: lawnmower blenny, 12clowns, Watchmen golby, FoxFace, Yellow angle, 6line wrase.
