How Many LEDs to compare to a 250w Radium
How many Leds and what color combination would I need to compare to a 250w Radium Bulb.

While there's really no one correct answer, using 3w Cree emitters, I would say (16) XRE Royal Blues and (8) XPG cool whites. If you allow for dimming capabilities you can fine tune the color spectrum.

it depends because you can get the same PAR reading with just one LED with the right optics but you wont get nearly the same spread, you will need more LEDs to get the same spread as a MH with a good reflector. to give a better answer to your question what dimensions are the tank you are using because that will be easier to tell what you need in the way of LEDs

I have a oceanic 75 gal, and was thinking 2 20" DIY fixtures with 3w crees 24 RB and 12 cool whites using 70deg optics on each fixture.
