How big should my MH Reflectors be for a 180g?
Hello Everyone,
I've never used MH before, and I understand from reading that 250W are the recommended wattage, but there are reflectors, and pendands, mogul, DE, etc. as options and I'm getting a little confused as to what I really need. I'm setting up a 180g 72x24x24 and will have a canopy. Question is, what size reflectors should I get? Are there better ones than others (lumenbright, spider, etc.) If I buy used from RC what should I look out for? How many should I get for the proper coverage, 2 or 3? Anything else that you think would be helpful I appreciate it. Paul |

On a 24" deep tank 250's should be more than enough. What are your plans for the tank? What are you going to keep? I have a 60" tank and ended up with 2 Lumenarc III's on 250's.On a 6 foot tank you might want to look at the L/A minis and get three of them.

Thanks. I plan to have a mixed reef, lots of fish. What's the difference between a reflector and a pendant?
