Mushroom moving/!?!!?!

okay guys, i don't wan say I'm freaked out but *** loll...

i bought a green recordia mushroom today, love it, BUT when I came home today he had moved nearly 3 inches away from where he was placed and he is facing the other direction completely.

DOES THIS THING HAVE LEGS? I heard corals can't move they stay where you put them or are mushrooms different?

Or does this have some sort of hitchhiker that is moving it?

ALSO: do scarlet hermits shed skin? I think I am seeing one of his "claw" hands dead skin floating around because it looks like it, if not not sure what it is. I bought him today, not sure if its too soon for it to shed or molt or if he was sick b/c the aquarium that had all scarlets had dead body parts b/c the owner said they fought together although he looks rather normal (hasn't moved for 3 hrs until the past 30 min and before the 3 hr stalemate he had)

Mushrooms can move, it can be becuase they do not like where they are placed. Xeniz is another coral that can slowly move.

Do you have any clown fish or other fish that like to redecorate your tank? That would be my first guess.

LOL...yes they do move. Won't settle in until they find a spot they like.

As to hermit, they do shed. I've notice whenever there is a change (water change etc) shrimp/crab tends to shed.

okay phew it scared me lolll.

so I don't glue him on a rock or anything right? I can leave him on the live sand?

Mushrooms for the most part wont glue since they are slimmy - you can net him to a rock if you dont want him to move around.

someone gave me advice to pat down the slimey stuff until its no longer slimey and you could glue it then. i havent tried that yet. what i did try was having some rock rubble in a glass jar with mushrooms which eventually attached to the rubble. i then epoxyed the rubble to where i wanted the mushroom. since then, the mushroom has moved an inch away from the rubble..
