Worried about these ball valves

Just picked up a few ball valves from HD and man o man are they hard to turn. Im almost worried that if i go to adjust them that they will crack the glass. Any insight on this?

The pvc ball valves aren't the best, the valves with the unions seem to work better but if you are using them to adjust flow rates You should by pvc Gate valves like the ones that come with most Skimmers.
Hope this helps.

lube em up with some vaseline, turn them a bunch while doing so until they are easy to turn, then wipe them down and soak them in some di water.

+1000. The BRS valves are night and day compared to HD valves. You can also buy on Amazon from a company called "Red Flag" for cheaper.
