Blue Face Primer?

If someone could help me out with some information regarding the blue face angel it would be greatly appreciated. Whether its some version of a primer or just basic information that you have experienced in your own tank or someone you know.

Information regarding
Foods:
Does it eat corals? if yes what kind?
Tank Size:

Thanks in advance and Happy New Years everyone !

The blueface angel is generally not a coral safe fish. It needs a minimum of a 180 gallon tank imo, and probably an even bigger one as it matures. The need lots of algae (ie, nori) and sponge material that you can commonly find on live rock and in commercial foods.

I have had 5 blueface angels in the past years all tried 3 in a reef and they demolished all my zoas and nipped at my clams, they are very shy at first and might take a few weeks before they start eating but once established they are very hardy, I have had mine in a 240 reef and 300 fowlr and 100 reef, they are pretty docile towards other species will fight with angels in its genus or similar size. They will eat anything all mine ate nori flakes pellets and frozen with no issues..

One of my favorite angels and they are slow growing I had one for 3 years that only grew about 2 inches was 6 inches when I sold him.

When using qt the last 3 I had all developed hlle while in treatment but once I removed it they went back to normal the prior 2 I never did qt on them..

Referred to variously as the Blueface, Yellowface, or Yellowmask Angelfish, the adult and juvenile Blueface Angelfish differ markedly in coloration as do most large angelfish. I always prefer to get one as a juvenile as opposed to a full grown adult which can exceed one foot in length. As a juvenile, the body is covered with alternating vertical stripes of black, white, and sapphire blue. Upon growing to approximately five inches, the juvenile begins to morph into its adult coloration of pale yellow with bluish scales and a bright-yellow pectoral fin. It has a mottled-blue face with yellow mask that extends from eye to eye but not much beyond each eye. There is also an eyespot at the caudal end of the dorsal fin.

A minimum of a 220 gallon tank with numerous hiding places and large amounts of live rock for grazing will offer a good environment. Not a good reef dweller, the Blueface Angelfish is prone to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles. The Blueface Angelfish is best kept as the only angelfish, as it is prone to becoming territorial when it is the largest fish in the tank. If you are going to attempt more than one large angel with the Blueface being one, I would suggest introduction of both simultaneously as juveniles in a tank approximating 8 feet minimum. Remember that a fish that will reach one foot+ in length will make even an 8 foot tank look small.

The diet should consist of Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items. It should be fed at least three times daily as should all large angelfish. This is an excellent fish that is initially shy until it is about 6 inches long and then becomes semi-aggressive.

I've had My BlueFace for 3 years. He eats ANYTHING food wise.I have him on Mysis, clam,Rods Food, Formula 2,and spectrum pellets. Also he gets Ocean Nutrition Seaweed Salad sheets daily.Has grown from 3.5 to probably 7.5 inches since I've had him.I have him in a 180 and will either have to upgrade or remove him down the road.Oh,hes a bully and I've tried to put some star polyps or cheap zoas in but he mows them down. They are one of my Favorite fish along with the Aussie Harlequin Tusk.

my BF is about 5.5". Really mellow fish and doesnt bother any of his tankmates, at least for now. Usually the BF is in the background all to himself. He'll eat anything, but my daily feeding includes ON form 2 pellets, NLS 3mm pellets, PE mysis, mysis, spirulina 20 flakes, and some nori.

i think the key to succesfully keeping any kind of angel is a thorough QT. 3 weeks of cupramine and 2 treatments of prazipro. JMO.

Under tank lights the BF colors looks really electifying. Easily one of the best looking angels.
