Clown fish to tank

I have a 29 gal Biocube HQI. Overall plan is Corals with 4 fish maximum. Do I have to have 2 percula or ocellaris clowns? Is it ok to just get 1?

Perfectly fine to get one. My female perc is now about 5 years old and has been single since I bought her as a baby. When clowns are kept singly they will turn into a female as they mature.

Yes, just don't ever mix species.

You should buy just one. From what I heard they get more aggressive if they are a pair.

Id say get 2 as long as you dont mind getting bit from time to time lol

And I have 2 dragonettes in there....which i wouldnt reccomend...I just got lucky I think

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. If I were to get one now, would it be a problem if I later decided to get another a few months down the road?

Pairing them up later can be tricky, the key is to be sure the newer clown is smaller (male) than the established female clown. There is no guarantee that the first clown will accept the newer one.

I would suggest rearranging the rock work when you decide to add another one.

If you want to get two, I would suggest getting them together, and both young.

But I say stay away from maroons, tomatos, clarkiis. Your tank is too small.
