Top Down FTS

Heres a top down full tank shot of my 180 gallon

it was suppose to be a contest submission but they wouldnt allow it because its "not fair to those who are not professional photographers"

so maybe someone on here can appreciate the amount of work and time it took to set this up there would be no light reflections or glare on the water

Awesome shot !!! Very nice tank. How does your coral like the reef energy a&b supplements? Notice any difference in them before you were using it and after you had used it for a month or so?

As a photographer, you may not want to hear this, but I like the FTS from the front much better than the top down shot. BTW, it is a nice looking tank.

But the top down shot took so much more effort and would have won me the contest strictly on the uniqueness. Obviously it's a lot less detailed and very 2 dimentional. Contest wasn't being judged by photographers, it was being judged by fish people

But thanks. As a photographer I appreciate honest feedback

I don't know. I started them all at once and noticed a huge improvement in color after 2 weeks

In case anyone is wondering. The coral in the bottom left is an orange tipped elegance.

As a photographer, i can really appreciate what went into getting that top down shot. Very impressive! No reflections, exactly straight down, even lighting. The FTS is meh like you said. Good shot, but same old same old. Where are the fish? Did you remove them or was it multiple exposures? I know when doing multiples, anything that moves a lot like a fish will disappear. It's a shame that someone who actually knows how to use his equipment and software gets punished. Oh well.

It was all one exposure and the fish were hiding. I used a 24mm to avoid as much distortion as I could. So I was on an 8ft ladder. Fish didn't like that
