Saltwater mollies

Hello everyone! Last night I attempted to acclimate full freshwater to 1.024 and over 9 hours ( could have been 7 1/2) I have done it. I started with a fairly large female and a sorta small male. I have not seen the female nip at any algae yet but It is still getting used to the rock and the sand. Unfortunately I am predicting that my male is not going to make it. The acclimation went fine and everything but he was a weak fish and got caught in my powerhead side 2 times the first not too bad, the second you could easily see his scales were messed up and is staying towards the top while the female has swam down to a overhang and is at the moment studying my fire shrimp. As for the male he is in a critter cage so there is no chance that he can get in the powerhead again and the power head is off anyways. Hopefully he makes it. I decided to go sort of quick on the acclimating because I read that mollies in the wild live in the costal areas and also in freshwater. Well as the tide shifts ever 6-7 hours it can leave a habitat that the mollies will be in higher salinity or ( seawater) and some where Ipthey can be in fresh water, how much total salinity I have no idea but I decided to try to do it within a 6-10 hour zone as in the tides they actually have to acclimate according to the tides ever 6-7 hours and I had success.
