Transferring stands
I've been wanting to build a canopy for my 36 gal bow front.
But, I've been concerned about the extra weight of the canopy. Would just setting the canopy on top of the aquarium be alright? In lieu of this, I've been wondering about just building a new stand with the canopy integrated into it. If I do go this route, how hard is it to move the tank to a different stand? Would probably drain about half of the water (more if need be) and get a couple of guys about my size to help me out just to make it as easy as humanly possible. |

If the current stand is well made it should not be a problem adding a canopy. If it is already a little wobbly, remake the stand. I would drain the tank down close to the bottom and remove most of the rock before moving it rather than stress the tank.

It seems sturdy enough. Came with the Aqueon 36 gal kit.
Will just slap a canopy on top of it and see how it goes lol. |
