How many spines do star.fish have on their tube feet ?

Hi my name is Virginia. I am in Mr. Rutherford's third grade class. We have a 160 gallon reef tank in our classroom. My question for today is : How many spines do starfish have on their tube feet ? We just got about 3 starfish in our tank and I am very curious about them . Thanks for replying to my question if you do . Your answers really help my education . Sorry if I waste your time by asking this question .

Sincerely ,

Virginia

That's a good question, but I have no idea. A lot depends on the species of starfish. Some are quite large while others are tiny

I tried to find the answer to this, but I still don't know. What I did learn is that some species of starfish can open a bivalve (like a clam or mussel) slightly and insert their stomach into the bivalve to digest the insides. They are very interesting creatures
