Mystery ID

I'm trying to figure out what these are. They almost look like starburst polyps but they're ghost like. Anyone have any ideas on what these are?

Aiptasia. a very annoying pest anemone. Get rid of it asap as they can multiply pretty quickly if not taken care of. Joes juice, Aiptasia X from Red Sea, or pickling lime will kill it instantly.

Will they cause any actual difficulties in my tank or are they just one of those things that are going to just pop up out of no where and do nothing?

They reproduce like crazy and have a strong enough sting to kill coral and injure fish/inverts. You should try you take care of them asap. If you google around, there are a bunch of tutorials on how to get rid of them.

Unless you want an aiptasia only aquarium, I'd get rid of them ASAP!

if you want something to eat it. peppermint shrimp work, but there's no guarantee that they'll eat it (mine did). also a Berghia Nudibranch is good. Aiptasia is the only thing they eat, thought they are hard to come by and when they do they're expensive. if that's the only one you can just use Joes juice, Aiptasia X, etc...

They'll pretty much spread into areas you can't access in your tank if you don't remove it ASAP. And then you'll have a problem pretty much until you take down your tank.

Lemon juice injected into the center of it will kill it.
