bulkhead plumbing question
OK, i know this should be easy but i have to order parts on line so i want to get it right when ordering (no easy or FAST way to fix a mistake).
plumbing for a BA in my external overflow with the bulk heads at the BOTTOM of the overflow box (not on the side as illustrated on the BA website). the DT builder supplied three 1" Hayward bulkheads, however, the end of the bulkhead in the overflow is a slip connection and the other end (extending down toward true union ball valve and eventually to the sump) is threaded male (the treads are on the outside). So How do i connect the PVC tubing (assuming that is what i should use, unless i hear something different from you) between the bulkhead (male threaded end) and true union ball valve? thank you! |

On mine I bought PVC nipples from Lowes, cut the threaded tips off each end to length and glued in. Then used Cepex valves. PVC is fine, I used gray schedule 40 just for uniformity. That is the best way I figured out to make sure I could do a bulkhead pull in the future if need be. This will give you the ability to configure slip on one end and thread on the other. The other option is to order threaded unions and slip unions from the same manufacturer and interchange them to make thread/slip unions. In my images there should be some pics you can see.

sounds like your bulkhead is SlipxSlip Regular PVC glue should be fine.
