Question Containing Gobies

So in less than 24hrs of owning him, the Sleeper Blue Dot gobie found the 1.5x1.5inch hole in the screen where my auto feeder drops food! Amazingly, it is in the middle of my tank and away from the glass. I'm wondering how people keep jumpers from escaping AND have an auto feeder.

Put a roof over the auto feeder?
Duckweed works in my FW tanks, but that's not really an option here.
Put large mesh under the auto feeder? How big is the food?

Maybe a piece of clear acrylic pipe from the feeder to the opening in the screen?

Get some plastic canvas from a craft store. It's about $1.50 for a 12" x 18" sheet. Comes in all colors. Flexible, easy to cut with scissors. In addition to covering holes in the top of your tank, you can make pod hotels, powerhead covers and lots of other stuff.

I always keep a few sheets laying around for little projects.

Shawn O - I thought about putting a pipe from the feeder down into the water, that way the food goes into the water stream; however in the context of the Gobie, my worry is it would jump up into the tube and possibly get stuck.

Zeebies - Covering the hole isn't the issue. I need the hole in the screen for the automatic feeder.

Does anyone have pictures of automatic feeder set-ups with jumping gobies. I certainly can't be the first one with this issue for there not to be solutions out there.

I just have the BRS 1/4" screen that they sell, and my auto feeder just dumps food through it, I'm just feeding small pellets.
