Green hairy algae

Whats up peeps, back in the game I have green hairy algae what I did wrong,, or where I go from there, , to be honest I didnt do a water change in a mth and also no protein skimmer as of yet, fish only tank, dont kill me folks...but anyway advise, heads up etc...Thanks

do you test your water parameters?

do you also have fish in there?

Skimmer should be your next purchase. Put off buying new fish. After you get the skimmer I would then look at getting a bio pellet reactor. The bio pellets will strip all the nutrients from the tank and since its a FOWLR you dont need to worry about balancing nutrients for corals.

Until then just keep up with your water changes and don't stress out. All algae problems can be fixed and everyone goes through them. Nutrient reduction is the key.

Hahahaha yeah I know,and yes fish in there...Im going of the algae,been busy, about to jump on it this weekend, I was about to threw in the towel but I change my mind, came to far to turn back now..

Thanks I needed that encouragement bro...I well keep you guys updated how its going...and yeah the next thing Im going to purchase is a protein skimmer....any recommendations for a 55gl tank ?
