cyano needs nitrates and phosphates to take hold. your phosphate test is reading 0 because the cyano is taking it up. in smaller tanks you can do a 3 day lights out completely covered while you have a bag of chemipure elite in the sump/filter. once the 3 days is up do a big water change and put the lights on for half the time for a week. your next water change change the bag of chemipure elite and let the lights on for the whole time you run them to see if they start to come back.
I'm not familiar with the tank you have but I know my biocube 29g had a box in the back that I was able to put a little light and grow cheato. that little fuge, with a bag of chemipure, ontop of a bag of Purigen in another section kept my tank spotless forever...best looking biocube I've seen.

Try the lights out as fishnoob suggested it works. But it needs to be in conjunction with large water changes to deal with the die off of the algae. the first attempt may not be enough if it doesn't eradicate on the first try, try again in a month. I would also lower feeding to once a day. Are you carbon dosing?
How is that wavebox handling flow in your tank are there any dead spots does the cyano seem to grow in lower flow areas. |
