What are dosing containers and how do they help me with my new reef tank

Dosing containers hold the Alk, Ca, and sometimes Mg solutions that you dose to your tank via a doser. If you are just starting out, then you likely won't have to deal with them for a while - if ever.
I don't dose via a doser, so I've never needed them.

You don't just add things to do it. You react to changes.
Test, test, test.......and then test some more. Get familiar with your tank and how it behaves. When you see changes, you dose to counteract those changes. Don't add anything to your tank without a reason.

I have a bad habbit of never testing. Once in a while i have lfs test it
