Dead Cleaner Shrimp
Wondering if anyone can help me or has any advice. I just noticed this morning that my cleaner shrimp was MIA. After searching the tank I find him dead with chunks of him missing (I assume this came from the two clowns). Does anybody have any insight as to why this may have happened? I just tested the water and it was fine. In fact I had just done a water change a few days ago. Maybe the water change was too extreme and fluctuated my parameters too much? I did a bigger change this time. I'm stumped.

Are you sure what you found wasn't a molt? They'll shed their exoskeleton from time to time as they grow. It's totally normal.
If your ever in doubt give it the smell test. A dead shrimp will definitely have a foul odor to it. |

I've seen him molt before. Usually the shell is much more transparent than this thing I found today. And it also had black eyes. His molts never had that before. I didn't smell it when I took it out. But I did examine it and I really don't think it was his exo. Pretty sure it was him. I'll still wait a few days tho and see what happens
