Question about plumbing for those who run Herbie Method
Should the emergency drain pipe be cemented into the bulkhead inside the tank?
I would think it would have to be or it would constantly leak. Just wanting to make sure. TIA |

Mine is not cemented and doesn't leak. I wanted mine where I could pull it out to drain the overflow real quick if needed.

+1, I do not glue mine either. If you push it in tight it will not leak.

I dont glue mine either. However, I wouldnt if I had very limited water space in my sump.

Threaded bulkheads for me, don't leak and pipe is removeable

Since there is no pressure on the Emergency drain pipe and doesn't really get wet unless the water level gets too high, it seems to me this pipe under the tank doesn't need to be cemented at all either if it is a very tight twist to remove.
