ATI 8 bulb on a 75? Also Skimmer??
Hi - So I picked up a new 75 and a 40b for my "Retirement Reef Project" and I was perusing some ads and I can get a ATI 48" 8 bulb Dimmable Sunpower with ATI bulbs for 400 - would that be too much light for my tank? I am hoping to progress from LPS to SPS dominant as my skills improve but I know I will need to walk before running..... I was thinking I could use cheaper (less output) bulbs at first or is it OK to run them dimmed if I need less light? Pros and cons on this light for this tank? Also saw a Reef Octopus SRO 2000 int skimmer I could get for $200 - is that a good deal and skimmer for a 100+ gal system? Thanks for any help....

Probably a bit of overkill on the skimmer and light, IMO.
The skimmer may have a tough time maintaining a good stable head and the 8 lamp ATI is an incredibly powerful fixture for that size tank... I would think a SRO 1000 and ATI 6 lamp would be your ideal equipment for the 75.
