Turbo snails QT
My DT is getting a bit overrun with algae on rocks and back walls.
My tang thinks its the best buffet in town and is grazing constantly but makes very little dent in it and so I'm gonna need a good few more snails (currently have 6 turbos in a 100g system). As I'm paranoid of ich and others hitchhiking on critters, they will need to go in QT which im planning to just treat as a fallow tank for 72 days before they go into the DT at which point no ich could be living on them. However, my QT has little algae and isn't big enough to support enough algae for a lot of snails. Can I feed them nori sheets or similar that they would accept? Also, how much will they likely need, would nori bankrupt me? Thanks, Adam |

You can just get some algae waffers to put in the tank, nori works also. Just a 1" square will be plenty for them a day
Good job on qt'ing you wont regret it

Some would tell you invertibrates dont need to be QT'd, just rinsed with SW. Its a little bit riskier, but not nearly as risky as not quarantining a fish.
