Just making sure

I have been researching metal halides for the past few weeks, and I think I am set on a fixture. I was wondering if all I needed were these things (ballast, reflector, and bulb):

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/hamilt...reflector.html
http://www.amazon.com/6500K-Aquarium.../dp/B008RY7TG4

Is this all I need? Or are there extra cords or other things? Thanks.

You aren't gonna wanna run a 6500k bulb as it will look fairly yellow and not really white at all, they grow algae great though. I'd go with a 14000k or even a 20000k bulb.

I also noticed it said " We recommend the LuxCore 400w Adjustable Electronic Ballast for the Cayman Sun fixtures." I dunno how that will affect the performance of the bulbs or if it even will at all.

Yes, that is all you need. I believe he is using this as a fuge light, so 6500 will be perfect.

Thanks. This tank is going to have primarily macroalgae, so I am shooting for good algae growth. If I don't like the 6500k, I will probably switch to a 10k.

I didn't realize that and yes it would be perfect for that purpose.
