grossed out by this little wormy thing

What is it and must it be removed?

looks like a non bristled reef worm coming out to scavenge for food

Actually it's a leg from a brittle starfish. Good to have them in your system and if you have one you more than likely have a bunch more. I've got dozens of them in my tank and mostly all you will see is their leg out trying to grab food.

I agree with mini brittle star leg. Right where it's coming out from the rock there appears to be a mojano anemone however.

Looks like a peanut worm.Brittle star would have spikes on the legs and this is smooth.
