Skimmer upgrade recommendations needed
Starting up a 120g cause I have it on hand, but plan to move to a little larger rimless tank in the next 6months to a year. A friend loaned me a reef octopus ro-ps2000int that's rated to about 200gallons. I assume it will do the job for a while but plan to have a fairly heavily stocked tank and would like to upgrade to a slimmer that will keep up with a heavily stocked 180gal tank. So without getting crazy price wise, what would be a good upgrade from this skimmer?

You could look into a Sea Side Aquatics ES2 protein skimmer. It's got a sicce pump and if you care it's pretty sleek looking. I use to have one and it handled my 150 extremely well, it was a very consistent skimmer and I never had issues with micro bubbles, noise, or over sensitivity.
I dont have personal experience with the new ice cap skimmers, but I'd take a look at them as well. They seem to be pretty promising. |

Check out the Simplicity skimmers. Well built, very quiet, powerful, and a fair price.
