What is this?

I have some brown stuff that seems like brown corraline algae. But it seems like it's growing little hairs on it. I don't know if it's just corraline or what? It's all over the rocks. And it seems to out grow existing purple corraline. Ugly.

What do you think?

I have coraline like that growing on a rock in my sump, it hasnt left that rock in the year that it's been in there. Coraline can come in lots of fun, and not so fun colors.

Does it come off the glass with ease? If not you might want to look into Lobophora algae. While this stuff does plate, it doesn't really start off that way.

It doesn't grow on the glass. Just the plastic and rocks. And it grew on brand new (once dry) rocks first with no corraline algae on them. If I scrub the rocks with a toothbrush it doesn't come off. Neither does the fuzz. I haven't tried anything more abrasive.
