My new 10 gallon stocking! :)

Hey everyone! I am setting up my new saltwater tank this week to start cycling for the month, but of course I am already thinking ahead for inverts and fish! The reason is when I go to my lps I am going to see what they have available for price/healthiness as it is a long drive. For inverts I was thinking;
3 blue legged hermit crabs (the little dwarf ones!)
4 different types of snails (a couple of the ones that live under the sand and a couple of the ones with the cone shells I forget their names sorry!)
A cleaner shrimp or a fire shrimp (not right away as I read they are sensitive)
and a turbo snail (maybe?)
Does that sound like a pretty solid clean up crew for a 10 gallon tank?

Now for fish I like these 4 (and from what I understand they can live in a 10 gallon tank) Keep in mind I am not getting all 4 these are just the ones I like.
Occelarus Clownfish (the black and white ones are sooooo cool)
Royal Gamma
Yellow Watchman Goby
and firefish.
For stocking I was thinking the following (but PLEASE leave your opinions and stocking lists)
1 Clownfish
1 YWG or clown goby but I REALLY like the YWG
1 Royal Gamma or Fire fish (but probably the Royal Gamma)

If that is too much I would probably forget about the royal gamma. Keep in mind this is not all going in at once and I will likely upgrade in the next year to a larger tank and make my 10 gallon into a sump.

thanks guys I don't want to make a ton of mistakes after I have bought the fish I would rather avoid them before I buy them

Too Much...Keep the clowns and the YWG. Other than that youll be ok. Probably get more of a CUC though

Hi, yes I was not thinking of getting all four. When you say clowns do you mean get two clowns and a ywg? Thanks!

Keep the single clown and ywg. Can also look at the clown gobies they stay super small and are interesting to be in a tank that sized

Ok sounds like a plan! Will the ywg pair witha cleaner shrimp or does it need to be a pistol shrimp?

Cleaner shrimp won't pair with a yellow watchman goby, cleaner shrimp don't burrow from what I've seen.

I've had green and yellow clown gobies, and the only thing that ever bothered them was a tailspot blennie. I've never had them with a watchman goby, however I've had them with a sleeper goby and an engineer goby and no fish ever paid them any mind. They are adoreable little fish that perch and sit on just about anything. My girlfriends favorite fish by far.

If possible, a mated pair of Neon Gobies make a nice addition to a 10g.
But if they aren't already mated, get just one.

+1 to neon gobies.

They are very small and hilarious to watch. My LFS had one that would swim into his hand any time it was in the tank and then sit on his hand.

Yep, mine would do that any time I had my hand in the tank. It would also 'clean' my hand. They will usually choose a specific spot in the tank as their cleaning station. My female clown would regularly go over to it to be cleaned.

I had forgot about that! I had a mated pair. Always hung out together. Both
would come clean my hand. Might have to pick up a pair for my frag tank.

Ok so for stocking this is what I am thinking them (thanks everyone)
First I will add my 4 hermits 5 snails after tank is cycled
Then I will add a clownfish
Then proabably a cleaner shrimp
Then a ywg
then the clown goby last if I choose too.

How does that sound? Could I add the fish in a different order if only one is available at the time that I am looking? Thanks!

Also is a 528gph wavemaker too much for a 10 gallon? If so I think I will spend the bit extra and get the

Hydor Koralia Nano 240 Aquarium Circulation Pump 240 GPH. I do like to save money, but I understand and am willing to spend more for a quality product

528 will be way too much. Nano 240 may work but still might be a little much especially for those fish. If you can adjust the flow then that would work. A good guideline is take the size of the tank x 10. Good luck
