How long after water change to test?
I want to see if my mgnesium levels rose after water change..how long do I need to wait to test for change?

Could use a second opinion on this, but I think as long as the tank has mixed thoroughly, you can test then. I'm more than willing to bet that it will have mixed by 24 hours post water change. Any sooner than that might be dependent on tank turnover rates I think.

I wait about 24 hours. These elements interact with each other, and it takes time for the chemistry to settle. Too soon can mislead you. My 24 hours is not graven in stone: it's just that my sump is down in the basement and my tolerance for standing there is not time enough. Give it a fair space.
