Yeah Limpet...I have seen sources that say safe and I have seen some that say certain species are suspect. If its not bothering anything I guess let it be...It most definintly will reproduce on you though giving you lots of them over some time. I had some show up in my QT tank once, hence why I know.

The ones I had seemed to be algae only eaters...but I am kinda paranoid so go they must.
I aint taking no chances! But heck yeah they reproduce like no tomorrow!!! In just a couple of weeks they were all over the place in my 6 gallon QT tank. |

Hopefully they won't start to distruct anything when I have corals and fish in tank.

Be careful when you’re cleaning the glass if you get a bunch of babies they are hard to see and will for sure scratch the tank if you run over them

I've had many limpets in almost all of my tanks after a handful of moves. I've never encountered on that was a problem, nor have I had one get stuck in my magfloat and scratch my glass. I'm rebuilding a 2'ish year old tank after a prolonged winter power outage and have noticed a few limpets on the glass. They leave behind a trail of cleared film algae and nothing more than poo.
It's a good idea to keep an eye out for any odd behavior out of something you didn't add to the tank for a reason, but your risk of problems is low to zero with these guys.
