There are several threads ongoing right now about this subject. One in the SPS forum and one in a local club forum. Also Randy Holmes-Farley will be plublishing an article soon on some experiments he's run with it.

What I've found so far is this, It WILL help clear your water. It hasn't made a difference in my skimmer output. The ORP of my tank can vary even though I'm injecting Ozone. Right now my ozone generator is down, waiting for some parts yet my ORP continues to rise.

I don't think you can actually overdose ozone unless you have a very large unit on a very small tank. The majority of the ozone will convert back to O2 just by going thru your skimmer. I don't run carbon on my skimmer and have never smelt ozone in my garage where my tank is. My skimmer output goes directly into the LR holding area of my sump and I have a ton of life growing in that area. I do run carbon in a canister filter on my sump but it does not directly intake from the skimmer output. I run a Clearwater s-1200 UV ozone unit capaibale of 250g/hr output controlled by a ORP monitor/controller set at 400mv running on a 550G system water volume.
