Grey/Black algae!

I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered black/gray hair algae. I set up my tank again about three months ago. Just recently a friend asked me to hold his emperor angel for him until he relocates. Since the addition, i have had these breakouts of dark gray algae on the sandbed. It cover 3/4 of my sb. I have never read or heard about this so if anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Thanks.

params are all measuring in the acceptable ranges.

ph - 8.2
ammonia - 0
nitrate - 0

not sure about the rest right now.

Sounds like cynobacteria. Good waterflow and protein skimming helps to eliminate the problem. If your bulbs are older than 6 months, that could also contribute to the growth of cyno on your sandbed.
