Where should I go (the flow)
This got strarted in another thread and I thought I would get it going here to get some more input.
For a 180 where should the over-flows be placed. I was planning to have them placed of-set at the center. So, the question is corner or of-set? |

I'd put them 12-15-inches from each side of the tank. But there's some play either way.

The concer I have gotten so far is for dead sposts in the tank. R/L corners and center.
Do you feel keeping them close to the corners (12-15-inches) will help with this potential? Thanks. |

Well, I wouldn't rely, even primarily, on the flow from the two overflows with their sump returns for the overall quality of the waterflow in my reef. In fact, I don't. But I do feel that having the water gravity feed into my two overflows does have some value to the overall circulation in the system. Having them fairly far from one another brings water into the sump from all over the tank and then through the refugium and skimmer and UV sterilizer is, IMO, optimizing the general circulation of the water in the system.

If you place them out from each corner, I think that can lead to a dead area in each corner
I prefer the corners myself |
