Does Kalwasser inhibit Protein skimming?

Hi--recently noted that my AC Remora is not producing too much effluent--this stopped after I took a greater interest in osing for CA and ALK--is it directly connected--or purhaps the recent additional of chemcial filtration? Please advise re your experience

kalk is suppose to enhance skimming.

I read that--however I have had a significant drop in my skimming production--perhaps it is the new chemical filtration?

I am having the same problem but I don't know what is causing it. Below is from a thread I started yesterday.

"I am trying to narrow down the problem with my protein skimmer (Seaclone 150). I changed two things with my tank about the time it stopped skimming. I started to dose kassewasser and I switch to a different salt mix because the LFS owner said he had better result with that brand. I stopped dosing with kassewasser acouple of weeks ago but I still not getting any skimming action. I also tore the skimmer apart and clean it good. This weekend I plan to switch to my orginal salt mix. "

Kalkwasser has helped increase my skimmer efficiency - I have a Euroreef CS6-2 at the moment.

I went on a killing spree on my aptasia with Kalk paste and my skimmer dropped down to nothing. I finally resorted to skimming very wet, and it is pulling stuff out, but I am going through about 1 gallon a day from the skimmer.

I have not changed my salt, and I have not dosed anything for the past 1-2 weeks.

Anybody know off the top of your head how tempature effects skimming? I know the past few days my tank has hit 83+ (Chiller is currently on a ups truck ) and it seems that at night the skimming picks up and during the day it dies down. almost as if it is following the tempature of the tank.
