Algae
I have a 75 gal fish only. It hase been set up for over a year. I only have 2 fish, a yellow tang and a Huma Huma Trigger. I have a dark purple almost gray algae that covers the crushed coral. I just did a 50% water change last weekend and it came back. I don't over feed and my lights are only on for about 7 hours a day. Any advice

Mike,
![]() To Reef Central How deep is the crushed coral? Is it possible that you now, after a year, have enough buildup of detritus in your CC that it may be causing your algae problem.

Most of the time when using crushed coral you will end up having problems.
