live rock
i was wondering i fi deicde to put live rock in do i need a certain amount in a 55g tank? or can i put a couple pieces here and there i mean i don't want to go overboard.....

you can do a couple pieces at a time but it must be cured or else it wil cause a mini cycle. recommended is 1-2 lbs per gallon so ur lookin at 75-80 lbs. IMO ur better off adding it all at once and then not worrying about it later

Agreed, all at once is better. Otherwise you will constantly be battling nuisance algae.

You could buy a couple of pieces at a time at your lfs, that way you get to pick out the shape and size that you like and see how your tank looks. And when you want to add more, just make sure that it is fully cured before adding to the tank.
