Cyano problem yes or no ?????
Hi all I THINK I have a cyano problem but I am not sure I have asked a few LFS and they say with cyano you can suck it off the rocks but I cant, and if I want to get it off the rocks I have to scrub it off and I do not like doing this. I have hosted a few picks on the below links of the cyano in my tank.

The stuff with the bubbles looks like cyano to me, it is usually easy to siphon out IMO, it looks like youre suffering from a bit of a hair algae outbreak as well , do you use RO water for top off etc. ?

more flow, more light, and kalk drips. a water change (or two or three) wouldn't hurt.

I change 70 litres a week and my tank size is 300 liters, with RO and i top up with RO aswell.
Also have 4 1200 speed power heads also have a spray bar it the back, i have 1 yellow tang and a few of my other fish do peck at the cyano but not in mass amounts. I have not tryed Kalk yet but i do put in reef builder when i water change, i think it help calcium but i use it for keeping my KH up aswell. Lighting i have 2 long whites there T5s and 2 short blue T5s, the blues are on for 2 hours before and after the whites. If you need anymore info just ask. Dont know if there is anymore i can do. Thanks Steve |

lots of water changes, check the phosphates in the water. When I get an out break i try to starve the stuff by reducing what it eats. Just a thought. Good luck
