frogspawn predator
for some time I've seen pale gold tracery almost like computer chip circuits on one---always one, but a different one---of my frogspawn's fat green tentacles early in the morning; now I'm finding bits of tentacle lying at the base, one yesterday, one today.
What sort of predator might do this? I'm posting this in the general forum because it's possible it's more general than an lps-only predator. I have a peppermint shrimp, an emerald crab, and those are pretty well the only inverts that could reach it. Nothing new's been added but fish in the last 3 months. It sits high in the tank, on the topmost tier. I do have some asterina stars. It never seems damaged, but it's losing bits of itself, and this is not good. I did have a bubbleshell that predated on my digitata, but I got that one. No sign of another since. I did start 6 months ago with very live rock from another aquarium.

Could Lugols help? If so, how do you use that stuff?
