Aquarium maker, is there a difference?

1.) I am going to purchase a 180-240 gal aquarium to make a reef system. Is "Oceanic" better than say, "Marineland" or whomever?

2.) What about overflows built into the tank? Are they necessary? I notice that tanks without them are nearly half the price. Couldn't I buy a nice sump with the extra money? What am I gaining from having overflows built into the tank?

3.) Who has the best prices out there?

Best Regards,

Dave

you want the overflow built in to the tank as they wont lose syphon as external ones can do from time to time, plus it looks much neater in most opinions. sump doesn't have to be fancy, just make it to what you want in your system.

I have a 90 gallon with the megaflow from allglass, it saves you a lot of time and money imo, because else you have to buy the overflow anyway, so why not get it built in, also you can have your tank closer to the wall.

Don't even consider buying a new tank that size without built in overflows. If you do you will be kicking yourself until the day you sell that one to get one predrilled with overflows. And you'll take a beating on that one.
Yes Oceanic is better than All Glass Aquarium. They are owned by the same company but Oceanic is their better quality line. I think Perfecto and Marineland are lower quality than either.
Look into Lee Mar tanks if you have a LFS locally that sells them. Very high quality and I found it to be less than a Oceanic and a much better tank than an AGA. The diamond edge glass is much nicer than a normal siliconed edge and they will customize a tank to suit your needs.
