Cheato in my HOB filter?

I have a question about Cheato.. I know it is a macroalge that helps keep down nitrates.. Someone told me to put it in one of my aquaclear hob filters.

How would I do this?

I have 2 aquaclear 55gal hob filters that I am taking all the media out of except the carbon and wanted to put in LR and cheato

Is this possible?

Thanks

Yes- you'll need a light source; you're existing lights may/may not cover it. And I'm not sure if keeping carbon and cheatomorpha in the same space might not be a bit cramped? Good luck-

Hi, it's more than possible, it's a classic! Have a look in the nano forum, you'll find lots of info about it. With aquaclear and refugium as keywords you can find many links with google.

Thanks I did a little research the only problem would be lighting I guess.. Maybe I should just use LR and Carbon and maybe a little bit of sand?
