UV Light

Does UV Light kill the environment if kept running continuesly .

I run it all the time and not seen any "long term effects"

there are others that run it all the time too - I got mine when I was battling ich, i'm not sure if it helped fight it off, but I am pretty certain it's help me keep my tank ich free since I beat it.

Well, remmember uv lights are meant to kill bacteria. there are good & bad bacteria and the light does not discriminate. On the other hand I have been running a small 9 watt on my 90g and plan on using it on my new 120g and have never seen any problems. (this is one area you could remain under sized) (my opinion)
