What is this growing in my tank?
It looks like a carnation and is purple with red all around the edges. It jus poped up out of the blue on my HOB filter discharge area. I cant find anything that looks like this. Im just looking for any ideas that i can look in to. Thank you for helping.
There are 2 of them and from side to side each are about 1 inch. no it never has moved. Not a purple nudibranch. What is that in your pic affan? it started to pop up about 1.5 months ago and is growing. It looks really cool and would make a great decoration. I plan on ditching the filter that it is growing on right now but i dont know how to take it off and attach it to a piece of live rock. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

wow now thats odd...but like you say awsome lookin. I'd guess at maybe some sort of macro algae or something.

Yeah, I'd guess some type of sponge/filter feeder. Pretty cool looking.
