DI Only
How many people are using a De-ionizer only, I heard that the purity that a de-ionizer produces is higher that RO but that you have to replace the de-ionizer cartridge often.

I am not sure but as the most expensive media on an RO/DI I sure wouldn't want to replace the media after one water change. Not really sure how only DI works but.......'
I wouldnt do it. Sounds to be very expensive in the long run. I doubt DI alone would be "better" than ro. Its just a pellet, it doesnt actually filter anything out. It pulls stuff out from what I understand. Anyways if it were better than RO why would everbody have RO/DI filters. If they sold 10 times more media it would get cheaper so cost isn't the issue.

It will be extrememly expensive to go that route. The DI will strip out everything, but doesn't have near the capacity for filtering as a RO with the appropriate filters. That's why people use the RO to strip out most of the impurities and the DI to catch the rest.
Much more cost effective that way. Dan

You can get a really nice RO for 130 at the following website. They are reliable, quality, and not ebay.
www.air water ice.com (without the spaces)

Wait a minute isn't ebay a stamp for quality
Filterdirect has been around for a minute but with ebay stores you never know. One day they just go poof.
