RO shutoff valve question
Lately I have noticed that the shutoff on my RO unit isn't shutting off completely. My first thought was that it had limed up, but since it is after the filters and membrane, that wouldn't be it.
I noticed that the faucet was not all the way open as it normally would be. Would a lower pressure prevent the valve from operating correctly? Would it hurt anything to just shut off the water until needed? I know it would be bad to let the membrane dry out, but would 24 to 48 hours hurt? At least until I get a new valve? Thanks, Mark |

I have had that problem were the water pressure dropped off and prevented the diaphragm from closing off the valve. A lot of people don't even have asv's but then you need to remember to turn the supply off otherwise water continues to run out the waste port of the membrane.
