Exclamation Should I be worried?

I have four seahorses, and one of the male seahorses appears to have an opaque-white patch towards his stomach near his dorsal fin........ is it a disease?

Hard to say. Can you get a picture? It does sound like an unusual spot for a normal color change - but it could be. Can you also supply information about your tank setup, species, how long you've had them, then general water quality, i.e. ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, temp, salinity?

Exclamation replying

I have a bio-cube 29 gallon tank with the bio-cube protein skimmer, with three Hippocampus Erectus, and one Kuda. The Kuda is the sick one; I'll try to put a picture up tomorrow when I return to my class room... I have had them about a week now; before this they were all fine. As for my tests:

PH- 8.2
Water quality is reverse osmosis water with some copepods
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 5.0 ppm
Salinity- 1.023
Temp- 24.6 degrees Celsius or 76 degrees Fahrenheit

first off did you do research before getting them? 4 is two many 2 would be max for that tank and it seems when you mix species one usually gets whipped out from what ive read its usually the kuda. crossing pathogens is not a good thing for them. and i am sure water quality is suffering . tank should also be at lower temp i would say 68-72 max to keep diseases at bay. i hope you have another tank to set up or please get a bigger tank.

My teacher had told me that was fine, and I do water changes once a week, but I do have another tank to place a pair in; and yes I spent 3 months researching them as well as the seahorse farm in Hawaii said the tank would be fine

So should I remove the Kuda and place him in the other tank then?
