Scroll down to bottom of the main forum page and throw a post up the LIRA reef club forum. Some members are in the 5 boroughs. You might get lucky and someone will take him from you. I would take it but I just had ich wipe out my tank and a hippo was one of the casualties. Also, do yourself a favor and stop shopping at that pet store. They should have taken him back even if they won't issue a refund. Any reputable place should.

here is a good link will guide you how big of a tank you need to keep them. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=1946079 if you want to start a again...first read and then read and then read again..reason you take others lessons and learn from them..that will minimize your expense in the long run and you make fewer mistakes..just a tip not saying i didn't screw up first setup the tank (LR and sand) and let it go thru the nitrogen cycle... once done then put some critters in there still let it run for a bit...and then place the fish..(usually start with hardy fishes like chromis etc) |

Ok so I'll put my shrimp, snails, and hermits in but before that let run through a nitrogen cycle, is there a way to get ammonia in my inhabited tank so I can be sure it goes through the cycle
