Could Seachem Kalkwasser kill my bryopsis?

I have been dosing seachem kalkwasser for 2 weeks now, and I noticed that bryopsis algae is turning white and loose.

Could raising ca(440) and alk(11), be responsable for killing the nasty bryopsis?

I have to mention, I am dosing with my ATO and in the mixture I put 15g of vinegar per teaspoon of kalkwasser.

PO3 is undetectable and NO3 is 0.2, but they are like this for a while with no effect over bryopsis. Since I started dosing kalkwasser, for my growing stock of sps, I noticed a slow down in bryopsis growth, and yesterday all tips where white and filter sock full of discolored and bleached loose algae.

The vinegar might be acting as enough of a carbon dose to starve the Bryopsis. That'd be my first guess. I haven't heard much in the way of reports that calcium and alkalinity will kill Bryopsis, although some magnesium supplements seem to do so.

FWIW, I use kalk 24/7 and vinegar too. Calcium runs around 470ppm with alkaiity at 9dkh ;ithat been as high as 11 dkh. It has no effect on bryopsis ,IME. Undetecable PO4 might get it at some point but that point may be low enough to harm corals;bryopsis seems to tolerate low PO4 well compared to other nuisance algae.

Thank you guys for your fast reply!

Corals are ok with low PO3 and NO3 . Alk is high from Red Sea Coral Pro. I changed from IORC two months ago, because alk was 5 dkH.

There are many coincidences here, changing salt, changing feeding schedule, kalkwasser + vinegar.

Red Sea also has high levels of Mg.
