I'm still confused what the problem is with it currently.

Drae any thoughts on if the coneS co3 is worth the extra $40 bucks over the EM300. Its for a 180 DT with 40 gal. sump. Plan o light yo moderate stocking. At least what I think would be

I've used the em200 and the jns sk2 (cone-2 aquamaxx) very similar performance but the sk2 produces a tad bit drier skimmate. Honestly... Flip a coin. Lol.

sounds good, Ill prob. go with the coneS co-3 then for the extra 10% or so cost. The co-2 would be definitely be too small for this set up right?

Thanks Drae.

You won't be disappointed. This was skimmate from Thursday to yesterday. A little on the wet side but a drastic improvement from my old skimmer

Definitely big enough then. If your concerned it is too big(doubt it) well the best way to find out your actual skimmer needs is to run it with your change in filtration plans. You won't know till you know.

My EM300 is a monster on my 120. If you're looking at an internal skimmer, I'd probably go with something from that line.

This is 12 hours of skimmate from my BB 120 that is currently without any fish, while running a sock AND GAC.

Skimmer performance is directly related to bioload/waste. With that said everyone's opinions don't really mean squat if you don't know at least total water volume and the stocking load.

If you ran an excellent skimmer on a lightly stocked large volume system you'd come away with the opinion it sucks. Put the same skimmer on a system with a big bioload and it's now a shockingly good skimmer.
