dual ballast/single bulb
Im running a galaxy 250W dual ballast but only running one side. Does any one think this could have adverse effects on the ballast? And do you think i should alternate sides?

I recently ran a test on my sunlight supply dual magnetic ballast. I found that it draws the same amps regardless of the number of bulbs installed. The dual ballast draws 5 amps with one bulb installed where my single Galaxy electronic draws 2.69 amps. The watt draw however was comparable on both ballasts. I've concluded that it's better to use a single ballast if you're only running a single bulb.

Thanks for the reply. Im using that ballast because I recently downsized my system and only need 1 bulb. The galaxy ballast quit after about 3 years, and both sides failed. I found this to be strange seeing how i only used 1 side, thus the reason for asking.
