Must barrel tender be level and on a flat surface?
My barrel has a slightly dome shaped top. Will the barrel tender still work like this? Would it be possible for me to make something for the tender to sit on above the barrel (like a piece of wood with holes in it)? Then i would extend the sensor tubes through holes drilled in the barrel to the appropriate heights. Would this work? Thanks!

I have a similar container. I mounted my barrel tender to the lid. You can mount it anywhere though- it doesn't need to be on a flat surface as the sensor tubes are connected via semi-flexible polyethylene tubing. If the surface is too curved though, the mounting template likely won't line up without some careful measurement. You may want to mark the holes for the mounting screws with a thin pen using the actual box rather than the paper template.
