Why bacteria in salt?

Why is it an advantage to have bacteria/foodsource in the salt?

Why not just use Aquaforest normal reef salt and the add the bacteria and their food source from Aquaforest additives?

Probiotic Reef Salt contains Probiotic Bacteria, Culture medium for them, Amino Acids and vitamins for Corals.
Off course You Can use Reef Salt+ Pro Bio S + -NP Pro but it contains another type of probiotic bacteria.

Aquaforest

Is there a reason to have different bacterias in the salt and probio s?

Is probio f containing same bacteria as the salt or is it a third kind?

Is it to do with wet or dry storage?

I did not get an answer.

The Aquaforest method includes three ways to add carbon source and bacteria.
(Pro S excluded)

1. Probiotic S + NP Pro
2. Probiotic salt which also includes vitamins and aminos
3. Probiotic F

Is the many choices there to increase diversity of different bacteria strains?
Or is about convenience. People can choose no. 1, 2 or 3 whatever suits them best.

You recommend Probiotic salt together with Pro S and NP pro which leads me to believe it's about diversity.

Please reply.

From reading other threads that Aquaforest has replied to, they have said that each product has a different strain, so by using Probiotic salt, ProBioF, and ProBioS you are getting the full spectrum. I have not heard if there is any scientific advantage to using all three.

There is few ways to use full Aquaforest Probiotic Method:

1. Probiotic Reef Salt + Pro Bio S + -NP Pro
2. Probiotic Reef Salt + Pro Bio S + Pro Bio F

Of course You can use Pro Bio S only, or Pro Bio S + -NP Pro.

Aquaforest

Ok thanks. What are the benefits with either 1 or 2 compared to only Pro Bio S which is no carbon source?

Every bacteria need food for growth.
That's why this is important to dose culture medium like -NP Pro.
